When Enoch was 65, his son Methuselah was born. After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived another 300 years in close fellowship with God, and he had other sons and daughters. Enoch lived 365 years in all. He enjoyed a close relationship with God throughout his life. Then he suddenly disappeared because God took him.
- Genesis 5:21-24
Isn’t it so easy to just skim through the long assembly line of Adam’s descendants? I am so glad that I read about Enoch. Enoch spent his life in constant fellowship with God. Enoch knew what God truly longed for: companionship with His children. Enoch was so pleasing to God, He took him from the earth to spend eternity with Him. God allowed Enoch to skip the pain and suffering of death so that he could be even closer to Him. Wow, what a loving God we serve!

So if you want to brag, do what the Scriptures say and brag about the Lord. - 1 Corinthians 1:31
If we measured the amount of time we talked about ourselves in a day, how much would that be? How many hours a day do we talk about our achievements, goals, plans, friends, possessions, etc? Do we spend more time talking about ourselves than about Jesus?
God, forgive me for all of the time I’ve wasted talking about myself when I could have been glorifying Your name. Help me not to boast about all that I do for You, but rather what You have, are, and will do for me.
